Big News for Commercial Real Estate Agents

Very soon it will be in the national news that a handful of Commerical Realtors in New York and Chicago were paid initial individual referral fees of $10,000 to $100,000.   We continue to look for Commercial Realtors across the country that will make introductions to property owners and managers of Class A, B and C apartments, condominiums, dormitories and other Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU).

Many Commerical Realtors have worked with MDUs and may have even heard about the FCC’s deregulation of the cable exclusive contract in 2006, but after 5 years only 130 buildings across the U.S. have signed with a satellite TV company.  The biggest problem is the property owners were working with MSOs and PSU companies that were the third party providers and installers.   So six months ago, we structured a deal with DirecTV so that the property owners were signing contracts directly with DirecTV.  The result:  We have signed up over 140 buildings in 6 months, more buildings than all the other companies combined in the last 5 years.

Why are property owners jumping on this deal?

There is no cost to the property owners as DirecTV pays for the installation.  Owners of the A & B buildings get paid handsomely on a residual basis and so does the referring broker.   The building’s appearance is enhanced by being cleared of multiple satellites and replaced with one.  The tenants can get the prized Sunday NFL Package.
